No Recovery Without Detox!

One thing I found out during my reading this week, was that, as a food addict, or any type of addict, you must first detox your body to rid it of the toxin you have become addicted to. So, for me, I found Green Superfood helps...a lot!!! It doesn't taste the greatest...BUT...it does clean out your digestive system and naturally detoxifies and boosts your immune system.
The ultimate detox would probably mean being on a liquid diet for about a week. BUT, I wanted to try something I could actually stick to. SO, I chug down a scoop of this in the morning, before breakfast, leaving about 30 minutes between drinking it, and eating. The first time I tried it, I juiced some carrots and apples and added it to it. DON'T do that! You will end up with a thick concoction that will almost make you gag! The next day I tried to juice more carrots and less apple, same conclusion. The third day, I wised up and just added water (like it says on the package). You still taste it; but it's not such a thick thing to try to get down. I was in a rush this morning and didn't take it before leaving the house and I noticed a significant difference in my hunger throughout the day. After I take it, I have more energy and I'm less hungry. TODAY, I felt like I was starving for most of the day. Word to the wise, although this doesn't taste all that great, and looks like green dirt, and doesn't dissolve in water, I suggest you get used to it. It also comes in chocolate, which I haven't tried yet. I found it in the vitamin section of my local farmer's market. You can probably also find it in grocery stores. It is about $25 per 8.5 oz. container, and contains 30 servings approximately. So it should last a month. I'm not sure how long I'll take it...BUT it will probably be at least a month. :)

    1. Yes, it works. It has helped me feel fuller, longer and also has taken away most of my sugar craving. I think the craving I still have is purely mental. I don't think my body is actually asking me for the little sugar that I supply it with. I have found that I can't stick to ANY food plan unless I take a multivitamin, or similar in order to provide my body with the added minerals and nutrients that are lacking in what I eat.

This powder has TONS of vitamins, antioxidants, and enzymes to assist in digestion. You'd be surprised how many lbs. are hiding in your intestines that need to be flushed out!

  2. I have heard of some detox processes make the user run to the bathroom majority of the day, was it true with this detox? I think this is a great idea and this weekend I plan to go to GNC and find me a detox drink to get rid of all my unwanted toxins.

  3. This one doesn't make you run to the bathroom at all. I combined this, with eating more fruits and veggies and tried to eat less meat the first 2 weeks. It really got me off of the sugar addiction that I had. The above green superfood powder tastes not so appetizing...lol...but if you can get over it and at least get through one dose a morning for a week or two, you will notice a difference in your cravings.
