Are you Motivated?




Too often I've started this weight loss journey and even more often than that...I've never completed my journey. I think the hardest thing to understand about weight loss, is also the easiest. You have to stay motivated! It's also not an overnight thing! It took years to put this weight on and I must understand that it may take years (or at least one) to take this weight off. So I take it one day at a time. I try not to see it down the road. I try not to look too far in advance. I know if I look too far, I will fall...and I will fail! Soooo, I motivate myself daily. If I walked a little more today than I did yesterday, I stay motivated. If I ate better today than I ate yesterday, I stay motivated. If I cut calories in one meal or more, I stay motivated. If I checked the label on a food item and didn't buy it because it had too much sugar and not enough fiber, I stay motivated. What motivates you? I can't look at this journey and say hey, I have miles and miles to go. When I drive long distances, I take my trip one green sign at a time. I travel from checkpoint to checkpoint and when I arrive at that distance, I strive to hit the next one. That is how I am going to take this journey. Not one month at a time, or one week at a time, but one DAY at a time...and better yet, maybe one MEAL at a time. This time...I'm doing this for me!!!
